  1. I’m speechless!!

Okay, y’all that is NOT the truth!! :) This is exciting!! I hope I win of course, but I really am cheering on everyone else!!

  2. David Dube says:

Cindy, I have NEVER known you to be speechless!

  3. DAle Ward says:

Well, guys, I need to get it on the fun, too. Best wishes – maybe we’ll all win…

  4. Dale Ward says:

I think I need to be in the top 10, so I need to comment again. The book sounds great and I really want a copy!

  5. Lori Ann says:

How very exciting! And Cindy – I dont think we want you to quit commenting or you might have a passle of worried people looking to see what hole you fell into!

    • I just saw the number of comments you made!! Way to talk, Lori Ann!!!!! Proud of you!! :) I am still trying to hold back on my competitiveness…but will have to see if I can resist. (I doubt it!)

      • Linda Rahaim says:

Cindy I wish you the same as I did with Lori. . I am not a very competitive person, although it would be nice to win, but I do like seeing others win as well. I wish you well!!!

        • Thank you. Although I really do want to read the book, the prize is not the main objective. I just enjoy getting a chance to talk with others…and have fun. Although I have never actually met them, some of the most treasured people in my life are a small group I met on the Game Of Life page!!

          • Lori Ann says:

And we were blessed to get to know you too :) Hmmm…I wonder if this posting is considered highjacked now? We seem to get to that a lot LOL

    • LInda Rahaim says:

well Lori you got me way beat. but that’s ok,. it would be nice to win, but I like seeing others win as well! so you have no worries from me. :)

      • Lori Ann says:

Linda, I think you are safe on your numbers :) When I get on it is in short bits with a day or so apart. I just enjoy reading Paul’s writing and getting to meet the others in the virtual world. One of these days there will be a big meeting of all of us and I bet the quiet will reign LOL @Cindy – I agree with comment you made about really being a quiet person in the non virtual world…it is much easier to type isnt it as you can just backspace if what you said came out wrong instead of trying to put words back in

  6. Linda Rahaim says:

I was shocked I was a finalist but as Dale said, It would be nice if we could all win,. :0)

  7. Linda Rahaim says:

This book is definitely worth reading. Even though I have already read it, I would love to give it to my friend as a gift. I know she would enjoy such a riveting Christian fiction book ~ written by a very gifted Christian author!!! :0)

  8. LInda Rahaim says:

I have personally learned so much about the power of forgiveness which is why I so appreciated reading this book. It’s not an easy thing but it is definitely a necessary thing to do for your own sake as well as the person you are forgiving!!

    • Wow! That comment makes it sound even more intriguing.
Btw, I BTFS deals a lot with forgiveness too. I hope you do read it. I was looking forward to both it and The Power Of A Pawn and both lived up to my expectations!

      • Linda Rahaim says:

yes Cindy I saw that about BTFS – and forgiveness. sounds like a wonderful movie and book. and I think I might try out The Power of the Pawn as well

  9. Serilda says:

Looking forward to Re-reading Paul Spite’s “Power of a Pawn” , Have shared the link to purchase this powerful book for only $1.99, now I just need to add a few extra hours to my days to get all the reading I would like to get done!

  10. Serilda says:

Congrats to all my fellow finalist, it’s a great feeling to know we are (snap) that close to winning ; )

  11. Patty Rosellini says:

    • I hope you are too. I confess, though, it is hard for me to keep up since you are commenting under 2 versions of your name. However, The Game Of Life team know how to add, so there is no doubt they will sort it out!! :)

  12. Patty Pritt Rosellini says:

I know I am way behind in my post.I had to watch the gaints win..go gaints in the super bowl..hope to win a good book to read afterwards..

  13. PATTY PRITT ROSELLINI says:

I JUST WON A BOOK AND A NOTE PAD FROM ROBIN CARR SO HOPEFULLY I WIN HERE TOO ;)

  18. Dale says:

  19. Dale says:

I really DO want to read this book.

  20. Dale says:

    Game on, I guess…. :)

  21. Dale says:

    Anyone out there?????

  22. David Dube says:

    I am here.

  23. David Dube says:

You know, I have never been a big reader.

  24. David Dube says:

I think it was because when I was young, I had ADHD and it was not diagnosed till I was 14. Reading never held my attention.

    • I think I have the adult onset version. I used to read several books a day.

      • Linda Rahaim says:

same here Cindy. One time I spent a whole day reading 1 book. It was that good. I am getting back to that again. I can’t work anymore, so I spend alot of time reading, and crocheting as well,. and this book is one of those books you could read all day and never get bored with it!!

        • I like a book that grabs your attention and keeps it. If I am still not into it after a chapter, I will read the last chapter and decide if it is worth investing my time.

          • Linda Rahaim says:

Cindy that’s too funny, I do the same thing only I usually go to the very last page, and read it so I know how it ends up. sounds stupid doesnt it?! you would think it would spoil it for me, but it doesnt. but i have to admit I didn’t do that with Mike’s book. that’s a first for me! lol

  25. David Dube says:

Even school assignments, novels to read over the summer. I didnt usually read them and usually failed the tests.

  26. Patty Pritt Rosellini says:

Well since it is hard for me to get on Nd post on a monday with working all day, I am admitting defeat because once I fogey home I would have to be on the computer. Hope the winners enjoy the book, I have to be happy to have been in the top 15. I never get in onanything. ;)

  27. David Dube says:

I always found it hard to read the Bible as well. It was a good day when I discovered Audio Bible tapes.

    • Maybe someone will make a movie about it! :)

    • Linda Rahaim says:

David, I know the feeling. Sometimes I get more interested in reading Christian fiction than I do the Bible. I never used to be that way but d/t heart problems I have some short term memory loss and it makes it very difficult for me to memorize scripture. So I started typing out certain scriptures that I could relate to and would encourage myself with and I have it taped to my wall, so when I use my computer the scriptures are right there for me to read. May be it would help you doing it that way.

      • I have been guilty of that myself. Or, I will get so worried about learning the Scripture exactly that I lose sight of actually concentrating on how to apply it to better follow and serve Christ. Head knowledge without actual spiritual growth is not good.

  28. David Dube says:

Since I started to home school my children, I have learned to like reading. I am very much looking forward to reading this book. :)

    • Did you get The Power Of A Pawn, David? It is very good!!

Brittany, Paul, & Eric are going to kill me because I keep mentioning this (I PROMISE I will do some extra promo about TGOL!!!!!), but the Beyond The Farthest Star novel is also going to be available in an audio version next month. It’s hard for me to concentrate on those, but some people prefer them.

  29. Can you believe my boss just sent a message wanting me to work? What is she thinking??!! There is a contest!! :)

  30. Linda, there are too many good books out there for me to waste my time with a bad one. That is the one thing I hate about being a book reviewer. I am required to read the whole book…and a couple of times it has been painful!! I try to choose authors whom I can rely upon to deliver a well-written book.

    • Linda Rahaim says:

is that what your job is Cindy? You are a book reviewer? I think that is so neat. but I hear you; especially if you have to read a book that’s not so good. I guarantee you though, you will like Mike’s book. It’s very different than other christian fiction I have read. I won’t say anymore, but you’ll see what i mean. :)

      • Actually, I am a Social Media Assistant. Translation: I talk a lot on Facebook and Twitter!! LOL! I help promote Christian media.

Actually, it was The Game Of Life that got me started. Eric would insist on 20 Unique comments to before posting another of Paul’s excerpts. And, no, not 20 from just me. I would try to get 19 others to make a comment.

I review for a couple of different publishers and companies, but the only payment is getting to keep the book, dvd, etc. Since i can’t afford to buy these things, it works for me. :)

  31. Just thought I would go for my 75th comment before the contest ends!!! :)

  32. The contest is officially closed and the winners have been announced on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/notes/the-game-of-life/announcement-necessary-heartbreak-contest-winners/365673036782232. Congratulations to everyone who won!

I will get another post up tomorrow here on Paul’s blog that will show the winners how they can send in their addresses so that we can send you your book!

  33. Serilda says:

    Thank you!!!!
