Presenting “Love Is Blind,” a thoughtful and gripping short story selection for Not Yet Reel, by Paul Spite.

Love Is Blind

The man’s finger slowly traced the curve of the young lady’s cheek. Had he been able to see, he would’ve loved the smile it brought to her face. But he could feel it through his fingertips. What he couldn’t feel was the purple birthmark starting above her right lip, extending up nearly to her right eye. His hands weren’t nearly as sensitive to the blemish as was the object of his love.

He whispered in her ear. “I love you so much. The fact I can’t see you doesn’t … Continue Reading

Paul Spite the Screenwriter

168 Hour Film Project LogoYou may know Paul Spite as the novelist behind The Power of a Pawn and The Game of Life series.

What you may not know is that Paul is an award-winning screenwriter internationally, and truly enjoys the challenge of writing for a visual audience.

With novels, poems and short stories, an author is “tasked” with creating a whole world in words. Charles Dickens is known for the sometimes tedious detail in his writing, but the details are what made the worlds in his books so rich and alive.

Not Yet Reel Collection of Stories for Film

Film-Reel-Paul-SpiteChristians are coming together from around the world to make films that are faith based, family friendly, or both. Their products are getting better and better and will soon surpass in quality of production, those in the secular film industry. The stories they portray uplift the human spirit rather than degrade it. That is also my hope for the stories contained in my offering, Not Yet Reel.

Stories in the first section of Not Yet Reel are intended as a wakeup call to my country. They are based on the state of the Jewish nation at the end of the Old Testament. They represent what a people, once dedicated to God, became after turning away from their Savior. Those scriptures were written just before God left, to remain silent for four hundred years. Our country is hell bent on removing God from our society in every way possible. That previous adverb is chosen carefully. These stories portray what we might become, should we succeed. They are stories of a World Without God. They embody the warning in Psalm 9:17.

The tales in the Short Story section of Not Yet Reel are random offerings, written as they came to me. Like stories in the first section, these are intended to be the basis for movies. They are written as plot synopses. Most utilize the ingredients of blockbuster movie plots found in Save the Cat. Like stories in the first section, they are intended to be produced with no nudity, graphic violence, or profanity included. None of those were once considered necessary to tell a story or entertain. They remain unnecessary.

The last two sections describe stories to be told in a series.

The first is the case files of a Special Agent … Continue Reading
